I. POLYCOATS

The complete range of methaacrylates monomers and polymers for coatings, adhesives, and polymer manufacture. Methaacrylates and acrylates, which can be combined almost at will, are some of the most versatile and functional building blocks of macromolecular chemistry. Since the inception of our company, it has been our tradition to concern ourselves with both, and we have systhesised over hundreds derivatives in our laboratory. We have been producing methaacrylates on an industrial scale for quite some years. Premier's Methacrylate Monomers and Polymers are found in applications in the adhesives, automotive, coatings, dental, ink, leather, optical, paints, personal care, paper, resins, rubber, textiles, UV curable systems and water treatment industries.

POLYCOATS are film former co-polymers, which confirms to USP/NF specification. POLYCOAT is used for film coating, enteric coating and substained release formulation and also as a binder for tablets and transdermal therapeutic systems.

A) POLYCOAT L100


Polycoat L100 is an anionic co-polymer, which conforms to USP/NF specification of "METHACRYLIC ACID CO-POLYMER " TYPE A. The film of Polycoat L100 is insoluble in gastric fluid and natural juices, Freely soluble in intestinal in pH 6.0 and above by formation of salts with alkalis. POLYCOAT L100 film is transparent, colourless and brittle and colour can be developed by addition of pigments, use of plasticizer is strongly recommended to improve the elasticity.

Uses - Enteric coating of tablets, pills, pellets, granules and powders.

Appearance - White, fine, free flowing powder.

Toxicity - Polycoat L100 is a high molecular weight polymer. It is not absorbed by body tissues and is totally safe for human oral consumption. Test for toxicological tolerance show that it does not have any pronounced physiological action and is non-toxic.

Plasticizer - Polycoat L100 film are brittle in nature. So to improve film elasticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended. The recommended plasticizers are polyethylene glycol, dibutyl phthalate, triacetin, triethyl citrate etc. usually 10% of plasticizer will be sufficient, but if necessary, can be increased to 25%.

Average Requirement - 40 gms, Polycoat L100 per 1 kg. tablets for enteric coating.

Shelf Life - Minimum 2 years from the manufacturing date.

Packing - 5 kg.& 20 kg. in Corrugated Boxes / HDPE Drums lined with polyethylene.

 

B.) POLYCOAT S100

Polycoat S100 is an anionic acrylic co-polymer which is conforms to USP/NF specifications of "METHACRYLIC CO-POLYMER" TYPE B. Polycoat PS100 film are resistant to grastric fluid and natural juices but are freely soluble in intestinal tract in pH 7.0 and above by formation of salt with alkalis. Sustained release ( delay release ) effect can be developed using Polycoat S100 by matrix method (wet granulation).

The films of Polycoat S100 are colourless, transparent and brittle. Coloured film can be developed with addition of pigment use of plasticizers is strongly recommended to improve elasticity.

Uses - For sustained released or slow release enteric film coating of tablet, pellets, granules, pills, powder etc..

C.) POLYCOAT L100-55

Polycoat L100-55 is 100% spray dried free flowing powder of Polycoat L30D-55 drying, It is an anionic acrylic copolymer, which conforms to USP/NF, spcefication as "METHACRYLIC ACID CO-POLYMER " TYPE C. The films of Polycoat L100-55 is insoluble in gastric fluid and soluble in intestinal track pH 5.5 and above by formation of salt with Alkalies. Polycoat L100-55 film are colourless transperent and britle in nature. To improve elsticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended.

This is a base aqueous coating system, so water-soluble plasticizer should be used. It is also possible to obtain similar results using solvent/hydroalcoholic based coating.

Uses - Polycoat L100-55 is used for aqueous film coating and enteric coating of tablets, pellets, pills, crystals and granules, etc.

Appearance -   White free flowing powder.

D.) POLYCOAT L30D-55


Polycoat L30D-55 is 30% dispersion of an anionic co-polymers which conforms to USP/NF , specification as " METHACRYLIC ACID CO-POLYMER " TYPE C , the films of Polycoat L30D55 is insoluble in gastric fluid and soluble in intestinal tract pH 5.5 and above by formation of salt with alkalis. Polycoat L30D55 films are colourless, transparent and brittle in nature to improve elasticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended. This is an aqueous based system so water soluble plasticizer should be used.

Uses - Polycoat L30D-55 is used for aqueous film coating and enteric coating of tablets, pills, pellets,  crystals and granules.

Appearance -   White milky fluid.

Toxicity - Polycoat L30D-55 is a high molecular weight polymer. It is not absorbed by body tissues and is totally safe for human oral consumption. Tests for toxicological tolerance shows that it does not have any pronounced physiological action and is non-toxic.

Plasticizer - Polycoat L30D-55 film is brittle in nature to improve film elasticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended. E.) POLYCOAT NE30D


Polycoat NE30D is an aqueous dispersion of a neutral co-polymer , which confirms to Ph.Europe. Solubility is not pH dependent and films readily permeable in gastric juices. Polycoat NE30D films are clear colourless transparent and lacquer.

Uses -

  • Polycoat NE30D is used for aqueous film coating of tablets, pellets, pills, crystals and granules and powders.
  • For granulation process and pelletisation.
  • For controlled released tablets and pellets.
  • For transdermal applications.

Appearance -   White milky liquid.

Toxicity - Polycoat NE30D is a high molecular weight polymer. It is not absorbed by body tissues and is totally safe for human oral consumption. Tests for toxicological tolerance shows that it does not have any pronounced physiological action and is non-toxic.

Plasticizer - Plasticizers are not necessary but permeabilities of polymer that can be regulated by addition of polyethylene glycols, vinyl alcohol or pryolidone as water -soluble additives.

Average Requirement - 35 gms Polycoat NE30D per 1kg tablet for film coating. 400 gms Polycoat NE30D per 1kg tablet for sustained release.

For pharmaceutical industry, it can be used in oral liquid, suspension, tropical gel, lotion and ointment. For cosmetic industry, it can be used in all personal care products such as shampoo, soap, perfume, shaving cream, nail polish, sun screen lotion, various creams & toothpaste. A. VISCOPOL 940

Excellent thickening efficiency at high viscosity and sparkling clear transparency is possible in aqueous or hydroalcoholic solutions suitable for use in cosmetics and topical application :

C. VISCOPOL 934P

High purity oral pharmaceutical grade for formulations of :

D. VISCOPOL 907

Viscopol 907 is the only liner polymer, which gives good water solubility and lubricity without viscosity. It is used in applications required high content without appreciable increase viscosity. Film also prepared by adding plasticizer as PEG6000 as PEG4000, triethyl cirate etc. It is useful in drilling mud, photosensitive, emulsions, fibre retention aid, etc.

Preparation of Aqueous Transparent Gel :

D.M. Water : 97.0 gm.
VISCOPOL  (Any grade) : 0.5 gm.
Sodium hydroxide (10% solution) : 2.5 gm

Neutralisers Recommended :
- Sodium hydroxide : Potassium hydroxide
- Triethanol amine : Triethyl amine, other alkalies etc.

Uses : Viscopol range, are water soluble polymer used to :
Thicken : To produce wide range of viscosities and flow properties.
Suspend : Insoluble ingredients
Stabilize : Emulsions
Appearance : White fine free flowing powder
Applications : Viscopol is a replacement for Sodium CMC,  All Gums, Xanthate Gum, Sodium Alginate, Poly-acrylic Acid etc.

III. POLYTEX

Introduced for the first time in India, with genuine indigenous research A product for Textiles, Paper & Paint industries.

Textiles Industry : Used for preparing dye or pigment printing paste. Exhibits excellent colour shade when used with different colours. This feature of Polytex saves costs as well as it controls the fire hazards & is friendly to environment. Polytex based printing system is 100 % aqueous (water) based system.

Paper lndustry : It can be used in pulp as a thickener & suspending agent to produce a uniform pulp. It can also be used to thicken the inks used in various printing mechanisms.

Paints Industry : It can be used in acrylic emulsions.The unique feature of Polytex is that it does not allow separation of oil phase from water & solid particles. It provides higher viscosity with clear transparency hence, lower percentages are required to generate the desired viscosity & improve the colour value.

Polytex is a replacement for CMC, HPC, Cellulose and other Poly-acrylates used for thickening, suspending & stabilizing.

Appearance : Polytex is available as dry white free flowing powder and paste form.

Application : Polytex requires max.0.8-1.0% of total volume. It gives appropriate thickening in D.M.Water instead of Normal Tap Water.

 

IV. POLACRILIN K100

It is a cation-exchange resin used in oral pharmaceutical formulations as a tablet disintegrant. It usually occurs as a cream-coloured, odourless and tasteless, free flowing powder. Aqueous dispersions have a bitter taste.

Incompabilities Incompatibile with strong oxidising agents. Amines, particularly tertiary amines, and some other substances which interact with Polacrilin Resins.

Stability & Storage Conditions – Polacrilin K100 and other polacrilin resins are stable to light, air and heat up to their maximum operation temperature. Excessive heating can cause thermal decomposition of the resins and may yield one or more oxides of carbon, nitrogen, sulphur and/or amines. Polacrilin resins should be stored in well-closed containers in a cool and dry place.

Safety – Polacrilin K100 and other polacrilin resins are used in oral pharmaceutical formulations and are generally regarded as nontoxic and nonirritant materials. However, excessive ingestion of Polacrilin resins may disturb the electrolyte balance of the body.
