A) POLYCOAT L100
Polycoat L100 is an anionic co-polymer, which
conforms to USP/NF specification of "METHACRYLIC ACID CO-POLYMER " TYPE A. The film of Polycoat
L100 is insoluble in gastric fluid and natural juices, Freely soluble in
intestinal in pH 6.0 and above by formation of salts with alkalis. POLYCOAT
L100 film is transparent, colourless and brittle and colour can be
developed by addition of pigments, use of plasticizer is strongly
recommended to improve the elasticity.

coating of tablets, pills, pellets, granules and powders.

Toxicity
- Polycoat L100 is a high molecular weight polymer. It is
not absorbed by body tissues and is totally safe for human oral
consumption. Test for toxicological tolerance show that it does not have
any pronounced physiological action and is non-toxic.

Plasticizer
- Polycoat L100 film are brittle in nature. So to improve film
elasticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended. The recommended
plasticizers are polyethylene glycol, dibutyl
phthalate, triacetin, triethyl
citrate etc. usually 10% of plasticizer will be sufficient, but if
necessary, can be increased to 25%.

B.) POLYCOAT S100
Polycoat S100 is an anionic acrylic
co-polymer which is conforms to USP/NF specifications of "METHACRYLIC
CO-POLYMER" TYPE B. Polycoat PS100 film are
resistant to grastric fluid and natural juices
but are freely soluble in intestinal tract in pH 7.0 and above by formation
of salt with alkalis. Sustained release ( delay
release ) effect can be developed using Polycoat
S100 by matrix method (wet granulation).
The films of Polycoat S100 are colourless, transparent and brittle.
Coloured film can be developed with addition of pigment use of plasticizers
is strongly recommended to improve elasticity.

Polycoat L100-55 is 100% spray dried free flowing
powder of Polycoat L30D-55 drying, It is an
anionic acrylic copolymer, which conforms to USP/NF, spcefication
as "METHACRYLIC ACID CO-POLYMER " TYPE
C. The films of Polycoat L100-55 is insoluble in
gastric fluid and soluble in intestinal track pH 5.5 and above by formation
of salt with Alkalies. Polycoat
L100-55 film are colourless transperent
and britle in nature. To improve elsticity use of plasticizer is strongly recommended.
This is a base aqueous coating system, so water-soluble plasticizer should
be used. It is also possible to obtain similar results using solvent/hydroalcoholic based coating.

based system so water soluble plasticizer should be used.

neutral co-polymer , which confirms to Ph.Europe. Solubility is not pH dependent and films
readily permeable in gastric juices. Polycoat
NE30D films are clear colourless transparent and lacquer.
